That’s correct, this recipe is completely customizable to your dietary requirements and what you already have in your cupboard.
Instant Pot Sous Vide Egg Bites Ingredients
These Instant Pot Sous Vide Egg Bites just need a few simple ingredients that can be found at any grocery store. There’s just one basic component, then you may add any toppings and add-ins you like.
- The primary ingredient in this dish is eggs. Eggs are rich in protein and will keep you satisfied throughout the morning.
- You may use whatever cheese you like instead of Monterey jack, such as Parmesan, Mozzarella, Cheddar, Feta, or Swiss.
- Onion, either red, yellow, or green. You have the option of selecting one.
- Red bell pepper, baby spinach, kale, zucchini, asparagus, and mushrooms are examples of vegetables.
- Bacon — I used crispy bacon pieces, but you could use sausage or leftover chicken for more protein.
- Herbs, such as parsley, basil, or dill, that are fresh.
How to Make Sous Vide Egg Bites in an Instant Pot
Following a few simple steps, you can create these Instant Pot Sous Vide Egg Bites. There’s no need for a blender, which means less dishes to clean (I like cooking but despise washing dishes!).
In addition, you’ll just need an Instant Pot and a few silicone egg bites molds in the kitchen.
Get the Egg Mixture Ready
- Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl, add the Monterey jack and cottage cheese, and mix for 30 seconds.
- Mix with your preferred ingredients. Green onion, red pepper, and spinach are the ingredients I chose.
In the Instant Pot, make the egg bites.
- Fill the silicone molds halfway with the mixture you’ve made.
- Place the trivet in your Instant Pot, then add one cup of water.
- Place the silicone mold that has been filled with the egg mixture into the mold on the stand.
- Check that the vent on the Instant Pot is set to the “SEALING” position before closing it. By clicking the MANUAL (high pressure) button, set the timer to 8 minutes. The Instant Pot will reach maximum pressure in around 5 minutes, following which the display will show a reverse timer.
- After the cooking time has finished, let the pressure naturally relax for 5 minutes. Remove any residual pressure in the Instant Pot before opening it.
- Before serving the egg bites, remove the silicone mold from the Instant Pot and put it aside to cool for a few minutes.
How to Make Sous Vide Egg Bites in an Instant Pot
- When I make a big batch, I save just enough to eat in the refrigerator and freeze the remainder.
- To make it easier to remove the silicone molds, I suggest spraying them with cooking spray.
- Allow it to cool fully before storing it in the refrigerator in an airtight container. As warm egg pieces cool, they will “sweat” and generate condensation, making them sticky.
- Make careful you don’t overfill the molds on top since they will expand under pressure and overflow.
How Should These Instant Pot Sous Vide Egg Bites Be Stored?
- Refrigerator – keep the cooled egg bits in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
- If you want to preserve the egg bits for a longer period of time, place them in a ziplock bag or an airtight container and freeze them for one month.
Then, all you have to do to reheat them is pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds. It will take 60-80 seconds if they are frozen.
You may also reheat them in the oven for 3-4 minutes at 400 degrees F till warm.
Ideas for Add-Ons
You may use whatever kind of mix-in you like. Because Instant Pot Egg Bites are so tiny, make sure to cut them carefully.
- Green chilies, broccoli, and mushrooms are examples of vegetables.
- Sausage, ham, bacon, and pepperoni are examples of meat.
- Pepper jack cheese, cheddar cheese, and gruyere cheese are some of the cheeses available.
- Products that have been canned or jarred
Is it possible to make Keto Egg Bites in an Instant Pot?
They are, in fact, keto-friendly. Make sure your mix-ins aren’t high-carb vegetables, and use full-fat cottage cheese or heavy whipping cream instead of milk.
What if I don’t have a bite mold for eggs?
That isn’t an issue. In the instant pot, you may create these egg bites in tiny mason jars or silicone cupcake liners.
You can also bake these on the stove in muffin tins!
To create these Egg Bites in the Oven, follow these steps:
To help them acquire a fluffy texture, bake them in a muffin pan lined with parchment paper and a basin of water with approximately 3 1/2 cups of water underneath the muffin tin.
I suggest baking them at 375°F for 15 minutes, or until the egg bits are firm.
