With just a few ingredients, this dish is very simple to prepare. Furthermore, it requires no breadcrumbs, making it low carb and ideal for those who like easy and tasty keto meals.

- Canned Tuna in Water – Look for tuna in pieces in cans that are meaty. While you prepare the other ingredients, drain the tuna in a strainer.
- Garlic Cloves — If you don’t have fresh garlic, garlic powder will suffice.
- You must finely slice the white onion. Feel free to use a different kind of onion if you have one on hand.
- Lemon Juice (no sugar added) — freshly squeezed or bottled.
- The egg serves as a binder. Flaxseed eggs may be used in lieu of eggs.
- Almond Flour — We used almond flour as a low-carb substitute, but a little coconut flour would also work.
- Mayonnaise– I used avocado oil mayonnaise since it’s one of our favorites and keeps the tuna burgers juicy and creamy.
- If you don’t have any parmesan cheese on hand, mozzarella will suffice.
- Parsley – the parsley will provide a distinctive taste to the tuna patties. I like fresh parsley, but if you don’t have any, dried parsley will suffice.
- Oil — I used avocado oil, but you could use any other frying oil.
Keto Tuna Cakes: How to Make Them
You can make the most delicious tuna cakes ever by following just a few easy steps:
- To begin, prepare the tuna cakes. Drain the contents from the tuna cans and combine it with the other ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- With a fork, combine the almond flour and grated parmesan cheese until thoroughly combined.
- Form a patty out of a quarter cup of the tuna mixture.
- Cook the patties for 5 minutes each side, or until golden brown and thoroughly done. The cooking time is determined on the thickness of your patties.
Making the Best Low-Carb Tuna Cakes Tips
- Add 1-2 tbsp almond flour to the batter if the tuna cakes start to break apart while forming. Your tuna is most likely watery, and you’ll need to add a bit extra flour.
- Use a nonstick pan if possible.
- Allow enough time for the tuna cakes to cook on one side so that they do not break apart when flipped.
- Add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper or 1 tsp hot sauce to the mixture if you like spicy tuna cakes.
- For an extra crispy and buttery exterior, cook the patties in butter.

- 10 oz. tuna in well-drained water
- a single big egg
- a quarter cup of almond flour
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 14 cup finely chopped onion
- mayonnaise, 2 tbsp
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp lemon
- 1 tsp seasoning (Italian)
- a quarter teaspoon of salt
- a quarter teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Aioli with lemon and dill
- a third of a cup of mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill
- 12 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Mustard dijon
- to taste with salt and pepper

Combine tuna, onion, parmesan cheese, almond flour, egg, mayonnaise, chopped garlic, and lemon juice in a large mixing bowl. Add salt, pepper, and Italian Seasoning to taste. Using a fork or a rubber spatula, combine all of the ingredients until they are well combined.

Using approximately 1/4 of the mixture, form the tuna patties into 1 inch thick circles.

Over medium heat, heat a large frying pan. Transfer the tuna patties to the pan gently and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until well browned.

To make the lemon dill aioli sauce, whisk together all of the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
