How HIFU Treatment Addresses the Signs of Ageing Through a Non-Invasive Procedure

Do you want to improve the appearance of your face to eliminate the signs of ageing? If so, a facelift is one of the most popular treatments that you can use to achieve this. Thus, you can either opt for the surgical or the non-invasive procedure to achieve tighter skin.

Issues to Address Through Facelift

The most significant solution to sagging skin is a facelift, which can tighten loose skin on the face and neck. It can also reduce jowls and improve overall contours. Moreover, it can soften deep folds, including nasolabial folds or the lines from the nose to the mouth corners.

When you lose facial volume, the skin on your face will tend to show signs of aging. You can solve this by using a facelift, as it will restore the skin to a more youthful appearance through the repositioning of the underlying tissues and sometimes combining with fillers.

Other issues include double chin and neck bands that are often so difficult to get rid of using natural methods. This can only be addressed properly with either surgical or non-invasive treatment that will remove or tighten fat deposits and correct the laxity of your neck.

In addition, if you have drooping facial features, it can easily be corrected with the use of a facelift. The process will lift areas like the brows, cheeks, and jawlines in order to rejuvenate the face.

Surgical vs. Non-Surgical Facelift

You may use the surgical facelift if you want to get lasting results. In fact, it can typically last from ten to fifteen years, which depends on your age, lifestyle, and skin elasticity. Although this can provide dramatic improvements, the natural ageing process will continue after the surgery.

The non-surgical facelift, like the HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) treatment, will have less dramatic effects. However, it will create a more natural-looking effect and will last about one to two years. But this will require regular maintenance treatments if you want to sustain the results.

Addressing the Signs of Ageing

One of the non-invasive facial rejuvenation techniques that you can use is the HIFU treatment. This works without undergoing surgical procedures. Basically, it delivers focused ultrasound energy deep into your skin. The procedure will target the SMAS layer or the layer being tightened during a surgical facelift. In addition, it can stimulate the production of collagen, which will keep the skin tight over time.

In comparison with a surgical procedure, it does not require incision or recovery downtime. Moreover, it is suitable for mild to moderate signs of ageing. However, the results may be more subtle in comparison to surgical facelifts. It also requires maintenance every twelve to eighteen months in order to sustain the collagen levels.

Side Effects of HIFU Treatment

Just like any medical or cosmetic treatment, HIFU treatment may also have side effects. Most of them are mild and temporary, particularly redness or swelling. This may occur after treatment but may usually subside within a few hours.

Note that it is a low-risk procedure when performed by qualified professionals and with certified devices. Serious complications are extremely rare, and more importantly, this approach is a more cost-effective alternative to surgical facelifts.

Where to Begin with the Treatment

The first thing that you have to do is to find a certified practitioner. You may look for dermatologists or licensed aestheticians from certified clinics specialising in non-invasive cosmetic treatments. It is also best to schedule a consultation so that you can discuss your goals and skin concerns with a professional. The practitioner will assess your suitability for HIFU on the basis of your skin type and degree of sagging. When you are ready, you may book an appointment and follow any pre-treatment advice prior to your initial session.
